Open-cut fibre civil works: how a job with us runs
From utility records to the reinstated surface – the steps of fibre civil works and what we bring to site.
In fibre roll-out, civil works decide speed and cost. We work open-cut, with our own excavator, an experienced operator and a truck to move the machines. This is how a job runs:
Preparation
- Agreeing the route plan, timing and billing (per metre or per house connection)
- Utility records and site induction by the client
- Setting up traffic management as permitted
Execution
- Breaking the surface and excavating the trench
- Laying microducts, duct bundles and protective ducts
- Pits, access holes and house connections into the building
- Backfilling and compaction in layers
Completion
- Surface reinstatement – paving, asphalt or turf
- Measurement and photo documentation for your billing
- Clean handover of the site
